This Velociraptor mongoliensis killing claw replica is based on a specimen from the Djadokhta Formation in Shabarak Usa, Mongoloia. Velociraptor means "Quick Thief" and lived during the Cretaceous period, over 75 million years ago! They earned this name because of their speed. They had a stiff tail which helped with balance and allowed them to run faster, turn quicker, and jump more accurately.
