the Flowers series, with its artificial, acid colored abstractions of the natural world, appears to contradict Warhol's images of urban tragedy.

Warhol fabricated these paintings in different sizes, from miniature to the monumental and first showed them at the Leo Castelli gallery in 1964 in multiple formations, covering the walls of the galleries almost like wallpaper.
