Approximately 65 million years have passed since a dinosaur last roamed Pittsburgh. Hoswever, the beasts retook the streets in the summer of 2003. DinoMite Days, a region-wide public art event turned back the clock to the Age of Dinosaurs.

The exhibit celebrated Pittsburgh's international reputation for scientific innovation by drawing attention to the world-class dinosaur collection housed at Carnegie Museum of Natural History. DinoMite Days featured three different species of fiberglass dinosaurs: Tyrannosaurus rex, Stegosaurus, and Torosaurus.

One hundred businesses and organizations sponsored dinosaurs, which ignited the imaginations of emerging and establihed artists, both local and national, who breated life into the log-extinct creatures. Millions of passersby delighted in the designs, which wer placed in prominent locations throughout the region. This postcard book documents 23 of the 100 dinosaurs that were on display.
