This Marilyn Monroe Mask was created for Diana Vreeland, the curator of the 1974 Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gale “Romantic and Glamorous Hollywood Design”.
When Ms. Vreeland saw the Marilyn mask for the first time she exclaimed: “And Monroe! The last great fantasie-Monroe on the pink elephant! That’s the stuff to feed the troops!”
Marilyn Monroe was the embodiment of Hollywood glamour and grace and this mask brings the luminary movie star and legendary sex symbol to life.
